MAKING MATTERS

Engaging in creative activities has a positive effect on various aspects of mental health and wellbeing. This is especially true for physical making activities.

COMMUNITY COUNTS

There are massive benefits for young people in feeling part of a community – this can be especially hard for those with marginalised voices, or who feel on the outside. Zinemaking can provide a community in the act of making the zines – the people who are around as you share materials, and discuss topics and techniques.

ZINES AS TOOLS

The zines themselves can be a tool for young people – to get a point across, to make their own voices heard, to empower them.

Zinemaking can be of benefit to the young people we work with, and it is so much fun! AND it’s so simple to setup, for little to no cost, that you might as well give it a go.
