TINY ZINE SWAP SHOP

Tiny Zine Swap Shop allows people to share ideas and information and stories and art.

It helps the zinemakers see that  they can self-publish, that they don’t need someone else to say that what they want to do is right, or interesting, or cool.

It’s about giving the zines an equal place on the shelf, everyone’s work on a level playing field.

It’s the amazing feeling finding a zine that you love and knowing that at some point, someone will come along, see your zine, and think it’s perfect.

Tiny Zine Swap Shop is as simple as it sounds. The library is workshop, printshop and swap shop in one small space.

One person (ZM1) makes their zine. You then make two copies of it – one goes to the SwapShop shelves, one for your archive. ZM1 then swaps that copy of their zine, for another zine.

At some point, another zinemaker (ZM2) will swap their zine for ZM1’s.

The Swap Shop can live within the walls of one library, or you can set up a zine exchange system with sister libraries – they don’t take up much room in that van!

And lo – the zine community keeps expanding!
